Design thinking is a method that stems from product design in the business world. Stanford University was one of the first schools to develop a design-thinking based curriculum in its famous d.school. Nueva School in San Francisco followed suit. In the past 5 years, more and more independent schools have restructured their curriculum, their philosophy, and their environment based on design-thinking principles. This is now beginning to translate into the public systems as well (design39campus and VIDA are both examples of this). |
